“The hidden harmony is better than the obvious.”

Welcome to SunnyRoomStudio: a creative, sunny space for kindred spirits.
Year 4 = 2013

  • A sunny room is not about always feeling upbeat or energized or falsely positive … it’s about going beyond a culture, a society, that is hooked on negativity and drama and controversy.

The opportunity to discover and connect with kindred spirits intrigues me.  And in the end, of course, we’re all “kindred spirits” on this journey called Life.

As a writer and a poet, I also believe there is much to be gained by addressing intriguing topics in an expansive space, a sunny room — a writing studio focused on creative thought, personal reflection, and spiritual inquiry.  It’s also important to understand the tremendous influence of societies and cultures — to grow in awareness.  I did my graduate work in sociology, but we are all responsible for the collective spirit of our world and communities.

  • Have you outgrown your tiny corner of the universe you call home – want to explore ideas and questions that are important and intriguing, yet easily overlooked in the rush of daily life?

Is the daily news a source of irritation at times; have you wished for something different to discuss — maybe issues with a spiritual or creative component?  Do you feel bombarded with useless information when you would rather think about what makes your life meaningful, manageable, or even poetic?  If you ever feel that “life” is being crowded out by a haze of mindless activity, I hope you’ll become a frequent visitor to SunnyRoomStudio.

We are all connected; to each other, biologically; to the earth, chemically;
to the rest of the universe, atomically.

~ Neil deGrasse Tyson, Author & Astrophysicist

In a blur, we stumble through our days, wondering if our time is well spent or just dominated by external forces.  Something to think about in a sunny room studio.  And, definitely, something to write about.

“I think that I still have it in my heart someday to paint a bookshop with the front yellow and pink
in the evening … like a light in the midst of the darkness.” — Vincent Van Gogh
